1960s

Maija Isola's designs of the 1960s feature two main themes: one is romantic and ornamental, the other is marked by large, simplified graphic patterns. Most of the rich, decorative prints were designed in the early part of the decade, which saw the birth of such popular patterns as Tantsu, Satula and Sarafan. Perhaps the most-beloved designs among the large-patterned graphic classics are Unikko, Lokki and Kaivo. The collection also offers a large variety of new colourways for the vintage designs, created by Maija Isola's daughter, Kristina Isola.
