Exports and international operation

Marimekko has its own subsidiaries and retail shops in Stockholm, Sweden, and Frankfurt, Germany as well as retail shop in London, Great Britain. Exports to other countries are handled directly or through local agents and importers. Marimekko products were exported to over 40 countries. Marimekko has approximately 30 concept stores outside Finland. Products with Marimekko designs are also manufactured under licence in various countries.

Marimekko’s export strategy aims at controlled and profitable growth. The geographic focus will be on areas where the
Marimekko brand is already recognised. The distribution network is expanded primarily by increasing the number of concept stores and shop-in-shops.
