Maija Louekari exhibition in Strasbourg, France
An exhibition of fabric patterns designed by Maija Louekari for Marimekko will open in the Aquatinte Gallery in Strasbourg, France on 2 September 2006.
Maija Louekari, Bachelor of Arts, has designed prints for Marimekko since 2003, when she won a design competition jointly organised by Marimekko and the University of Art and Design Helsinki. Her designs are characterised by expressive line drawings and large planes of colour. Many of her prints offer vivid glimpses of landscapes or moments. Maija Louekari’s HO-HOI! pattern was chosen as the winner of the fabric design category in the global Elle Deco International Design Awards (EDIDA) 2005.
The Maija Louekari exhibition in the Aquatinte Gallery will run until 14 October 2006. Some interior decoration products with Maija Louekari’s designs will also be available for sale at the gallery shop.
