Unikko   |   Maija Isola

Mai Ohta

Designer:

I work best when: Between 10 pm and 4 am, and in bed just before falling asleep.

My greatest design influence: All of my experiences.

The Marimekko product I use all the time: A fabric covered notebook.

My first memory of Marimekko: I made a dress with Maija Isola’s "Kivet"-fabric when I was studying in Japan.

When I travel I always take: A pair of comfortable shoes.

The pattern I'm most fascinated with right now: Very cute prints in sophisticated colors.

My favorite escape: Reading Japanese novels.

If I were not working as a designer, I would be... still trying to be a fashion designer. Because I might get a chance if I stay creative!
