Aino-Maija Metsola’s Napakettu (Arctic fox) pattern was inspired by fairy-tale illustrations and the characteristic ornamentation of Marimekko. This expressive and intriguingly enigmatic pattern flawlessly communicates the atmosphere captured in old folk tales as well as the enchantment of Lapland’s fells and the flickering aurora borealis.
