Kaamos – Very Finnish Thing

Christmas brings light and joy in the middle of the polar night, a dark period called kaamos. The lack of sunlight creates a sense of quiet – and with some luck, the Northern Lights appear.

Pikkujoulu – Very Finnish Thing

Pikkujoulu occurs when friends or colleagues gather for a fun night together. The party usually begins with a mug or two of spicy glögg and plenty of gingerbread, and ends on the dance floor during the small hours. It is the Finnish way of saluting Christmas.
