Info
The Huopakeltano tote bag is made of lightweight cotton canvas in the Unikko pattern with large printed extracts of the Marimekko logo on top. The material is printed in Helsinki.

This product was made by upcycling leftover cotton fabrics. Our bags are sewn using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary slightly. Each item is unique.

Marimekko´s famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house´s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.

Unikko

Unikko (poppy), symbolizing creativity, was born in a time when hardly any floral designs were included in Marimekko’s collections. Maija Isola, however, was fascinated by the theme of flowers and decided to create an entire range of novel floral prints.
