Marimekko presents its spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week in a Marimekko home

Marimekko will present its spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday 2 October 2016. The collection will be shown to media and industry professionals in a Marimekko home, set up in the Finnish Embassy in Paris. By bringing the Marimekko home to Paris Fashion Week, the brand challenges traditional boundaries between fashion and design.

Celebrating timelessness of Marimekko design

In 2017, Marimekko will focus on the theme of courage and being true to who we are.

"The spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection celebrates the timelessness of Marimekko design. The concept of luxury is changing, and people are more and more interested in investing in a sustainable lifestyle and wardrobe, enjoying life as it is and following their own path. By presenting the collection in a Marimekko home, we want to showcase our point of view on what good design is," says Creative Director Anna Teurnell.

The collection presented in Paris will be available in stores in spring 2017.

"Finland celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2017. Being a very iconic Finnish design house based on Finnish values, I think it is wonderful that we will have the possibility to present our unique point of view on design to fashion and design professionals during Paris Fashion Week in a Marimekko home set up in the Finnish Embassy," adds Alahuhta-Kasko.
