This cotton apron features the nostalgic Vihkiruusu pattern in off white, pink and dark blue. It has one front pocket, an adjustable neck strap and bands at the waist that can be tied together at the back.
Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, had publicly announced that Marimekko would never print floral patterns. Maija Isola, who did not like such restrictions, protested by designing an entire series of floral prints. Once Ratia saw the designs, she immediately decided to include eight of them in Marimekko’s collection. Vihkiruusu (wedding rose) was one of those designs, as was the iconic Unikko (poppy).
