Marimekko pilots a future retail service concept – a shoppable Marimekko home – at Milan Design Week

Marimekko takes part in Milan Design Week's Fuorisalone events by bringing a shoppable Marimekko home to the heart of the city from 9 to 14 April 2019. The Finnish lifestyle design house pilots a potential future retail service concept by combining a physical, inspirational home-like set up with an easy and engaging digital shopping experience. The shoppable Marimekko home offers guests an opportunity to shop styled entities curated by its creative community: the shopping experience enables visitors to buy everything from an individual product to a styled table setting – and even the entire home décor with its Artek furniture.

Marimekko at Milan Design Week

The shoppable Marimekko home marries strong, unique Finnish design thinking with the country's leading technological know-how. The experience is created in partnership with furniture design icon Artek and digital commerce specialised growth consultancy Columbia Road. The shoppable Marimekko home can be accessed at Via Palermo 5, Milan and around the world digitally at The shop represents the design house's unique lifestyle concept and combines pieces from its spring/summer 2019 home, ready-to-wear and bags and accessories lines. A special showcase is dedicated to the Oiva (superb) tableware, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. 

Milan Design Week is one of the world's most notable furniture and interior design events, gathering around 300,000 industry professionals and media representatives annually.

About the deliveries

The shoppable Marimekko home sells individual products and curated décor entities consisting of Marimekko and Artek designs. The curated décor entities are available until the end of April or until the stock lasts, and can be delivered to most countries in Europe.
