Vivid brushstrokes

Piccolo – since 1953. Design by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi.

Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi created Piccolo, a striped fabric pattern painted with vivid brushstrokes, the very year she joined Marimekko in 1953.

Three years later, the Jokapoika (every boy) shirt made from the fabric appeared in shops and the streets. For good, it seems. The iconic shirt has been in continuous production in countless imaginative colour combinations ever since.

Get ready for new adventures

This season, Jokapoika meets Jokatyttö (every girl), a feminine interpretation of the classic piece. Get ready for your new adventures in the beautifully tailored Jokatyttö shirt and quirky Ihanne trousers.

Piccolo is available in several beautiful designs and colourways.

The neon pink and beige stripes belong to the season's most captivating combos.
