Raakelin uni

1961

The large-scale Raakelin uni (Rachel’s dream) plays with imperfect mirrored symmetry, and its name includes a humoristic double entendre that probably only Finnish fabric printers understand. Raakel is Finnish for the Bible’s Rachel, but painoraakeli is a Finnish word for the blade used to squeeze the printing paste through the screen onto the fabric.
