Iconic stripes with vivid brushstrokes

In Marimekko’s spring/summer 2020 collection, vibrant flowers meet iconic stripes. The Piccolo pattern was painted by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi in 1953.

In our spring/summer 2020 collection, vibrant flowers meet iconic stripes, and the focus is on femininity and the full bloom of summer.

In the pattern, overlapping adjacent colors create a third intermediate shade. When other companies were trying to avoid this kind of ‘fault’, Marimekko made it part of the design. Piccolo has been in continuous production since 1953. Over the years, we have created as many as 2,500 imaginative color combinations.

Impress with iconic stripes

The timeless Piccolo pattern is here yet again in new silhouettes, shapes, and colorways – also in our canvas bag arrivals.

Get creative with a true classic

Designed by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi in 1956, the unisex Jokapoika (every boy) shirt is the oldest continuously produced Marimekko classic and a favorite of all generations.

Printed in Helsinki

This season also brings us Jokapoika made of relaxed linen. All the Piccolo patterned cotton and linen fabrics are printed in Marimekko’s own printing factory in Helsinki, Finland.

Bold blossoms in sherbety shades

Embrace bold blossoms in sherbety shades. Reinterpretations of the archival Marimekko pieces from the 1970s, this season's airy designs all carry Maija Isola's painterly patterns.

Floral statement suits

Express yourself with dazzling flowers. Designed by Maija Isola in 1970, the charming Pioni (peony) pattern shows the summer's floral splendor at its finest.
