Margit Lennokki

The Margit dress is made of a soft cotton and linen blend in the Lennokki pattern. The dress has a concealed zipper in the back seam, a front central seam, and side seam pockets. The bodice is lined and the dress has chest darts that open up into pleats toward the hem. The voluminous sleeves have wide panels at the cuffs. The hemline has a rounded cut. The A-line dress has a slim fit top.

Composed of flower and seed shapes torn from paper by Antti Kekki, the Lennokki (modern airplane) pattern was inspired by Marimekko’s characteristic large and bold floral prints. The flowers bloomed in celebration of Marimekko’s 70th anniversary, and the seeds represent the growth of bold Marimekko flowers in the years to come.
