Nadja

1959

Newly married Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi thought it would be nice to have a dress with pockets in which you could hide away little presents and messages from the one you love. In 1960, she designed such a dress, the Iloinen takki (cheerful coat) in the Nadja pattern. Soon everybody wanted one.
