Size Guide

A – Collar: The collar size is measured by placing the tape measure around the neck and placing the index finger between the tape measure and the throat. This measurement dictates the shirt size.

B – Bust: The bust size is measured from the highest point of the bust when a bra is worn.

C – Waist: The waist size is measured around the narrowest part of the waist.

D – Hip: The hip measurement is taken from the broadest part of the hip.

E – Inside leg: The inside leg measurement is taken from the crotch to the floor. Please note that the inside leg measurement of trousers is often provided in the product description.

The Hopeasini button-up shirt is made of cotton in the Pikku Lokki and Pieni Unikko patterns. The shirt has a metal button list, a rounded hem, and two chest pockets with openings toward the button list. The sleeves have pleats and slits at the sleeve ends and single-button cuffs. The shirt is of unisex design and sizing.

To celebrate our 70th anniversary, we have invited interesting creatives to reinterpret Marimekko's design language and philosophy. The result is Marimekko Co-created.

The third capsule was made in collaboration with Japanese fashion designer Wataru Tominaga.

Marimekko’s famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house’s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.

The idea for the Lokki (seagull) pattern came to Maija Isola when she was looking at a window with a curtain drawn across it. The sun was shining, and the wide folds of the curtain formed wavy shadows on the fabric. Maija had a sudden inspiration: if a fabric is printed with waves, even a small piece of such fabric appears abundant, richly folded.
