The Aureoli print was designed by Paavo Halonen for the Marimekko Spirit exhibition organized in Japan. Created using paper cut-outs, the print was inspired by Japanese art and cinema, including drawings of kappa by Katsushika Hokusai, paintings of cranes by Maruyama Ōkyo, and films by Hayao Miyazaki.
