Höyrykukka (steam flower) by Maija Louekari was inspired by the abstract patterns steam creates when water is thrown on the sauna stove – and there is a special name for that in Finnish, löyly. These steam formations resemble flowers seen against the dark sauna wall. The floral print was designed for the 2023 IKEA x Marimekko collaboration collection.
