Aligned with local authorities’ recommendations, we have decided to reopen the Marimekko stores in Sweden, and we look forward to seeing you soon. The safety of our customers and personnel will continue to be paramount when our stores have reopened.

FAQ during COVID-19


Why there is a delay in the deliveries?
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our stores have been temporarily closed, and there have been more visitors at marimekko.com than usual. As a result, our online store is currently bustling and our customer service is unfortunately congested. We are constantly working on resolving this issue, but at the moment the average delivery time of orders is 5 to 12 working days (+shipping). Thank you for your patience.

What is Marimekko doing for the safety of customers and employees? /  Is it safe to visit the stores? 
Our main priority is to safeguard the health and safety of our customers and employees. To do it, we have built extensive instructions on health and safety related to store reopening in this exceptional circumstance including e.g. the following precautions: 

-We limit the number of customers in our stores to maintain a safe distance between people
-We clean and disinfect surfaces frequently
-Hand sanitizer is always available in our stores
-We recommend using card payments. 

In addition, in this new situation we will offer our customers also the possibility to book private shopping appointments as well as shop via a call or video. 

Why is Marimekko now opening its stores? 
Our main priority is to safeguard the health and safety of our customers and employees. We carefully follow the local authorities’ instructions when planning the safe reopening of our stores. In Scandinavia, Germany, Australia and Finland, the original instructions from the authorities differed, but restrictions on openings of non-essential businesses have been lifted (if there were such in place), schools and day cares are opening (if they were closed), guidelines on number of people allowed to gather at one time have been updated, among others. All these changes make it possible for us to consider the safe opening of our retail stores, with elevated safety measures in place. 

Why are stores limiting their opening hours? When will the store opening hour returning to normal? 
We have limited the opening hours due to the exceptional situation. We are planning to return to normal opening hours as soon as the situation allows, with elevated safety measures in place.

Can Marimekko fabrics be used to make respiratory protective equipment?
For safety reasons, we do not recommend using our fabrics as respiratory protective equipment or other face mask products. Marimekko fabrics available for purchase are meant for interior design and they have not been manufactured or tested to be used as respiratory protective equipment or similar facial protection products.  

What do I do when my product return time is about to expire?
Currently, the return time is 30 days for products purchased from the Marimekko store or online. The products must be in their original packaging, unused and undamaged, with the product badges and labels attached.

How can I use my gift card?
You can redeem your gift voucher online at marimekko.com or at Marimekko store. When redeeming your gift card online, enter the voucher number and confirmation code at checkout, and the value of the voucher will be deducted from your order total. If the value of your gift card is higher than the value of your order, you can use the remaining balance for future purchases.
