The Pohjoinen jacket is made of cotton with the Iso Ruutu pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The jacket has a straight cut with a single-button closure, pockets with flaps in the front, and a slit at the back hemline. The sleeve ends feature buttoned slits with four buttons in a row.
Checks, along with stripes, have always been an integral part of the world of Marimekko patterns. Annika Rimala, too, designed several distinct check prints, like Iso ruutu (large check), during her career with Marimekko.
