The Kaksoset pattern bedspread is two-sided; another side has the striped Korsi pattern.
The bedspread is made of 100% organic cotton. The polyester padding is 100% recycled.
Throughout her career, Maija Isola was both a print designer and a painter, and she often used the same motif in a painting as well as a fabric pattern. A good example is the pair of cats in the Kaksoset (twins) pattern, which appears in an almost identical form in a gouache painted by Maija.
Stripes have always been an integral part of the Marimekko pattern world. The Korsi (straw) print,createdby Fujiwo Ishimoto, draws inspiration from Finnish nature. Linework and various stripe variations are characteristic of Fujiwo’s design – like many seemingly simple yet cleverly crafted patterns.
