Marimekko is known for its timeless design and the art of printmaking. We aim to continue creating new classics: high-quality products that stand the test of time and stay relevant across generations. We are developing our products and operating models in support of circularity while staying true to our values.
Our sustainability work focuses on people, nature and good business practices. For example, we focus on human rights in our value chains, responsible business practices, and identifying and mitigating the impacts of our operations where possible.
We cooperate with various partners to develop materials, technologies and operating models. Sustainability is part of our daily work, and we monitor progress with the help of goals and indicators. Below you will find examples of the focus areas and results of our work.

We believe that collaboration is the most effective way to promote new practices. Below, you'll find some examples of our collaborations.
Marimekko products are designed to stand the test of time – both in use and in their prints, silhouettes and colors, remaining relevant across generations. Our aim is to offer aesthetically lasting design, use materials suited to long-term use and create future classics while exploring circular solutions in product development.
Promoting fairness and equality in the world around us is deeply rooted in our company DNA. We believe that long-term sustainability work for people requires both the continuous development of our own practices and collaboration with suppliers and other stakeholders. We concentrate on respecting human rights in our value chains, fair working conditions and pay, and an equal, safe and inclusive work community at Marimekko.
We try to mitigate climate change, safeguard biodiversity and use resources wisely in our own operations and across our value chains. Together with other actors, we want to promote the development of new technologies, materials and business models and, in doing so, help move the industry forward.
