Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi, 1954

Prints designed by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi, who worked at Marimekko from 1953 to 1960, represent timeless Marimekko design at its core. The rhythmic Noppa (dice) check design is one of many of her patterns that have maintained their popularity decade after decade.

The Maisol dress is made of nicely draping cupro in the Noppa pattern. The dress has a shirt collar and a V-neck that ends in a pleat. There are pockets in the side seams and a central seam in the back. The A-line dress has a slim fit.

Cupro is an artificial fibre made from cellulose that requires less water, fertilizers, and pesticides to grow than for example cotton.
