The product is part of Rolf Ekroth for Marimekko, a limited-edition capsule collection that blends contemporary streetwear, Nordic functionality and Marimekko's art of printmaking. Ekroth is one of Finland’s most internationally acclaimed new-generation fashion designers.
The Salmi pinafore dress has a relaxed, A-line fit, and it features the Rutsjebane pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The lightly padded dress is quilted, and it has an O-neck and open sides, which are tied together with self-fabric ribbons.
The main material of this product is made of 100% organic cotton. The padding and lining are made of 100% polyester.
Our dresses are cut using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary. Each item is unique.
Part of Marimekko´s Artist in Residence program, Danish textile artist Vibeke Rohland focuses on removing the superfluous to reveal the essence of form, color and contrast. Rutsjebane is a flow of consciousness in color: letting loose with paint in organic, overlapping stripes that resist full control. It was created on-site at the Marimekko printing mill. Rutsjebane is the Danish word for "roller coaster."
