Gratha Unikko

The Gratha shoulder bag is made of nappa leather, which develops a patina over time. The bag features the embossed Unikko pattern, a zipper closure with one Unikko flower puller, and a removable and adjustable leather shoulder strap. The inside is lined and features one zipper pocket.

The main material of this product is made of 100% leather.

Through the membership of the Leather Working Group (LWG), Marimekko is committed to supporting its work of setting globally recognised environmental standards for leather manufacturing.

Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon of print design. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to faithfully capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral prints were earlier excluded from Marimekko collections. So, Maija Isola designed Unikko to be an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendition. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko´s design identity.
