The soft wool Seireeni rug features a wavy Seireeni pattern created by Maija Isola in 1964. Isola was inspired to create Seireeni, which mimics the movements of water, during her travels in Greece.

This timeless rug is ideal for the living, dining, or bedroom. Made from high-quality 100% New Zealand wool, the rug features a tufted pattern surface and polypropylene and latex backing. To care for the rug, vacuum it gently without the vacuum brush and air it out if needed. Spot clean stains with a damp cloth and gently blot them. Professional cleaning is recommended for the entire rug.

The Seireeni rug was produced by Dutch rug manufacturer Brink & Campman and is part of the Unikko pattern's 60th-anniversary collection, featuring some of Marimekko's most iconic designs.

Maija Isola, 1964

While traveling in Greece in the early 1960s, Maija Isola got inspired by the movement of water and depicted it in several fabric prints, including Seireeni (siren) from 1964. Named after the mythological sirens, the pattern also recalls the enchanting singing that lured sailors into dangerous waters.
