The Puolikas kukkaro purse is made of cotton in the Pienet Sydämet pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The rectangular purse has a metallic frame that is easy to snap open and shut.

Maija Isola designed more than 500 fabric patterns, which cover an amazingly diverse range of motifs. She drew inspiration for her work from traditional folk art and modern visual art alike. The cheerful Sydämet reflects the spirit of the 1960s.

Husaari

Maija Isola, 1967

Maija Isola’s output of more than 500 fabric prints is an inexhaustible treasure trove. The Husaari (hussar) is one of her geometric designs from the 1960s in which we can see her exploring the constructivist movement that was rising in the Finnish art scene at the time.
