The dress has a large pointed collar, a concealed button closure, side seam pockets, and straight, loose sleeves. The dress has a wide pleat in the back, and it comes with a narrow separate belt. There are small belt loops in the side seams.

Hennika is an energetic, fresh, and at the same time quiet striped pattern formed of large color surfaces. Prints designed by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi, who worked at Marimekko from 1953 to 1960, represent timeless Marimekko design at its core.
