This heavyweight cotton fabric features the Vesi Unikko pattern, which is printed in Helsinki.
25% of the cotton used in this product is recycled and 25% is organic cotton.Printing large-print fabrics using the flatbed method leaves a repeat line at the edge of the pattern, and the prominence of this line depends on the fabric's colour and pattern. The repeat line is not a flaw but a feature of the printing technique that can also be used as an effect.
The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Unikko, one of the most recognized Marimekko print designs in the world. Celebrating the special year, Vesi Unikko is a combination of two Maija Isola patterns. The delicate Vesi (water) pattern, representing Marimekko´s striped heritage, now merges with the large, almost abstract shapes of Unikko.
