Kukasta kukkaan blooms at Habitare
The leading furniture, design and interior event in the Nordics brings design lovers together at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre from September 2–6, 2026. At the heart of Marimekko's booth is Kukasta kukkaan, the joyful floral print designed by Erja Hirvi.
Erja Hirvi brought the joyfully blossoming Kukasta kukkaan print to life during a burst of creativity at her summer retreat, fully immersed in floral inspiration. The loosely conceived pattern emerged as she painted, capturing the myriad ways flowers appear in nature. The Finnish name of the design translates to “from flower to flower” – a nod to the playful flight of bumblebees among summer blooms.
