SS24 highlights Marimekko’s hallmark floral abstractions, from the beloved Unikko to beyond. Selected stripe designs bring a sense of rhythm to the collection. Feminine silhouettes are merged with modern utilitarian workwear, both equally representative of our rich heritage. The collection creates a joyful meeting between print, minimalism, and utilitarianism with robust material qualities combined with breezy summer layering styles.
In 1964, Maija Isola’s Unikko emerged as a bold departure from conventional floral prints. SS24 presents five new prints by Finnish designer Antti Kekki that embody the essence of our iconic flower while also bearing their own distinct signature. Helakka (bright), Kolmikko (triplet), Malja (toast), Nokturno (nocturne), and Poiminto (pickings) continue the legacy of Unikko.
Marimekko’s take on a modular style builds on a wardrobe that consists of timeless pieces from many different collections. All our collections are built on three archetype silhouettes—A-line, straight, and fit & flare. Read more about the Marimekko archetypes in our Journal.
